That no matter what year level we have, we need to help students notice what's going on around them. If they don't notice they've made a mistake, they'll continue making the same mistake. If they don't notice what's happening in a picture (or a paragraph), they're unable to talk about what they see or read. We need to support each one by talking about words, by using descriptive and interesting words that capture their imagination, and don't just rush onto the next thing too quickly. Slow down. Enjoy what we see and hear.
